Eleven parties call for rally in Rajshahi

A divisional rally of 11 party unity will be held at the historic Madrasa Maidan in Rajshahi on Saturday (May 16) to demand the implementation of the referendum verdict, alleviation of public suffering, and a fair share of the Padma River water.

Mujibul Alam, senior publicity assistant of Jamaat's central publicity department, gave this information in a message sent to the media on Thursday (May 14).

It said that the divisional rally will start at 2 pm on that day. Opposition leader and Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will be present as the chief guest at the rally. In addition, national and local leaders of the 11-party unity and opposition members of parliament will address the rally.

Preparations have been made to make the rally a success with the participation of several lakhs of leaders, activists and ordinary people from various districts of the northern region including Rajshahi.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General and Rajshahi Regional Director Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has called on people from all walks of life in the northern region to participate spontaneously to make the rally a success to fulfill the demands of the people.
